I worked for a week at the Security Operations Center situated in the UTC, helping to setup quarantine networks and tutoring other students about Cyber Security. I also ran workshops aimed at Primary and Secondary School children, to better educate them on Cyber Security and keeping safe online.
I play a major role in the organization of FlawCon, a sister conference to OggCamp focused on security, especially awareness given the crossover of OggCamp's developer and open source orient. In the first year, this included: opening a company, organizing a Capture The Flag competition and securing speakers for the conference. The 2019 year was a success, and we hope to host more yearly events in the future.
My main goal within security is to teach more than I learn. This has inspired me to take actions such as create content for TryHackMe and HackTheBox, as well as writing blog posts. If I can teach more than myself, I'm doing something right. I've spent a long time chasing those ever smaller and smaller numbers on a leaderboard, nearly two years now, so it's time to take a step back and refocus.
I've played a lot of games. Cheating in single player games was my path to the security industry, so I owe a lot to them. Currently, I focus on more competitive titles such as osu! and League of Legends, but I still dabble in stuff like Minecraft and Racing Simulators. Currently, my favourite games to play, however, are tabletop card games (mainly Magic: The Gathering)
In my free time, I enjoy competing in Code Jams, making the weirdest rickrolls imaginable, and many other random hobbies I've picked up along the way, such as Speed Cubing (solving a Rubik's Cube as fast as possible), throwing playing cards, and whatever else I happened to find interesting that month.
